Default tach / speedo problem - any ideas?

Just got done giving my car a full zaino treatment this afternoon. When I got back in the car to go for a drive, strange things were afoot... Both the tach and the speedo are registering substantially higher than they should. So I shut the car off and neither instrument will return to zero. The speedo needle will only drop down to about 15 mph, the tach down to about 600 rpm - with the engine off. Car runs fine otherwise. Not that I have an APR chip but if I did, would that give anyone any ideas whats wrong?

Default My guage cluster had some similar behavior just before I had Audi replace it. Since>>

you're not chipped, it won't be any problem at all when you go to the dealer to get the cluster replaced on warranty.

Now........ if we were talking about someone who had an APR chip, hopefully they have their stock/unmolested computer handy so they can to into the dealership in stealth mode, so as not to be pointed out as one of those evil modders who actually wants to enjoy their TT to the fullest. I believe that APR says their chip is "invisible" when switched to stock mode, but I've heard of several cases where the dealer found the chip.

Default No big deal, mine does the same... when you turn ignition the speed and tacho needles rise a little.

They eventually return to zero when engine is off - like a capacitor holding charge or something. Spoken to the dealer who will swap out cluster on next service or whenever.
