Test drove a - GASP - Crossfire today
It was an SRT-6 model. Pretty damn fast actually and handles well. The biggest downside I see to this car is that it is only equipped with an automatic transmission, which I find strange since the SRT was supposedly targeted toward the performance-minded driver.
But it is a nice car overall, nice suede leather seats, decent looking interior (albeit a little plasticy).
Been thinking heavily lately about what will replace my TT. I know the Crossfire has gotten some mixed reviews around here but the SRT-6 is quite the performer with 330 horses. Obviously it's not the work of art the TT is, but it's not a bad looking car IMHO. And if you think the depreciation is bad on the TT, this particular Crossfire was about 1/2 the new sticker price with only 11K miles on it... Makes it that much more attractive.

Yeah I know
The TT has been running well lately. I'm just worried about the "next big thing" (e.g. like the turbo) that's going to break on it. It could be a week from now, it could be a year from now. I just had a new clutch, brakes, and timing belt change done last fall, so I'd really like to get some miles out of that stuff before I get rid of the car.
But like I said, the car drives as good as it ever has right now and the engine is still strong, lots of boost, doesn't consume any oil. So maybe I should just hang onto it for a while more. Is it better to get rid of a car when its running, or when its sitting on $2000 worth of repairs?

It is based on an SLK so that can't be bad. If only it looked more like it.
I'm not crazy about the look but I don't dislike it either. SRT though has a pretty bad spoiler on the back but I guess it could be reworked.
