what is everyone using to clean up the dead-pedal, and foot pedals? Soap and water just does not get the scratches out....TIA

I took off my dead pedal and high polished it.
 

It never shows scratches like the matte finish and because it's in a lowly lit area, the brighter finish looks cleaner.

You have to see it.

I have tried to use cleaners and waxes in the past, but they are slick the first few times they get wet. What polish did you use??? do you have any pix?

No! The rubber bumps are still there. No slip.

You have to dismantle the thing and then polish it! .

Unscrew the bolt at the top of the plate. It's a torque head. The same one you use for the Strat arm rest install. When the bolt is out, don't pull straight back. Instead, press against the plate as you simultaneously push up on it. There's an L shaped plastic catch on the back side makes that move mandatory or you'll break it.

Pry the bottom metal apart to release the rubber 'nubs' Slide them out and commence polishing!
