Without removing the roof. You need to be a bit of a contortionist, but with patience its possible to pull the insulation shield out. with help of mirror and 13mm ring wrench remove plug from side of pump. Top up with power steering fluid using big fat hypodermic syringe from your local vet, fitted with some 4mm silicone hose.Need about 3 syringes or almost one small bottle of fluid. Beware, syringe becomes tight as plunger swells from the oil. Now I just need to find out where it all an out again. oil is leaking out under/behind driver's seat. Roof opening works, roof closing doesn't so suspect big leak in lower fitting or cracked cylinder casing?

cylinders (hydraulic rams) used to leak all the time in VW cabrios
don't know if it's the same part in a TT. But that's my guess where its leaking.
Hyrdraulic fluid can eat through important stuff, so I wouldn't put it off.
Yet another reason why I told the wife we are not getting a convertible.
