Default Those waiting for my 2.0 conversion impressions !! >>

forget it.......
Cost is far above my projection. be it parts or labor.....probably both....but I would never spend that $$ in the attempt to enhance power on this little motor.
I'm maxxed out power wise.
1. Small gains with increased displacement are sooo far outweighed by cost.
2. Gains via extending rpm range are not worth the poor driveability (as in even less power within the usual ~ 3.5K rpm range)and huge metal fatigue (yes....>8,000 rpm will burn your candle at both ends).

So I'll fix the head and gasket and call it quits. Disappointing indeed! and....gettin' boring. Think I'll get on the Cannondale

Default I didn't quite understand what you were trying to do to get 2L out of this engine...

most that I know go to the 2L block - but i've never heard of doing it by just strokin the crank out. Nevertheless - it's not worth it IMO - plenty of power there in 1.8L form.

Default MTM has a stroker kit, but I've never heard of anyone that has it installed.

"The MTM 2.0 Litre Conversion kit works hand in hand with Stage 4- 360HP to deliver more power to the bottom end. This kit consists of Crankshaft, Sport connecting rods, Piston Set (81.010mm), Piston rings, Crank and rod bearings, Re-worked head bolts, Sport valve springs, Special lower valve spring plates, Cooler thermostat, Special head gasket."

Default yea....actually, the thought is now to bore it out! Those thin walls?... told all ok >>

as far as durability although original thought was possible overheat. Dahlback feels it's ok to bore out which, actually, would have been my preferred method until I saw our block.
In any event....I now know the $$ of engine removal / rebuild & bore. But I'm not willing to go the usual bigger turbo + higher revs to get more.
No comes the point of diminishing interest in this car

Default Yikes, I've seen those cylinder walls up close n personal, can't imagine boring em.

I'm not smart enough to figure out how much they'd have to bore but it shouldn't be much so I guess it's doable. Can't be much because there isn't much there.

Bore + crank will gain .2L. New tall block, crank, and pistons can get to 2.2L
