Time for new brakes and I haven't a clue. What should I do?
After searching the archives, I have found many varing opinions on brake pads. I would be grateful for some comments on my plan which is:
Replace the stock pads with Mintex Red Box or
C-Techs. I'm not sure about the C-Techs for daily driving. Right or wrong, I picked Mintex because I have heard the most positive about them.
Replace the brake fluid. This is where things seem to get really interesting with many opinions out there. ATE Super Blue? Motul 600? Ap Racing 551 Racing? I have read most posts on the topic and am at a loss.
I particpated in one track event this year (Lime Rock) and plan to attend at least one maybe two next year. A brake upgrade is not in the budget any time soon.
Thanks in advance for any insight.

some answers . . .
First the brake fluid. I have run the ATE SuperBlue in my TT for 2 years now. I plan on getting rid of it. My clutch began squeaking a few months back and need to drain the fluid and replace it with something else. I plan on going with Motul 600.
The A4/S4's always had problems with ATE SuperBlue causing noises and problems. The noises in my car took almost 2 years to appear.
Brake pads I have C-Tech up front and RedBox on the rear, but I am running AP Racing brakes up front. I would not recommed C-Tech pads for the street with stock brakes though. They work amazing with the AP's, but never drove them on stock brakes.
Hope that helps.

Larry - on the Ctech's with stock brakes - what do you see as the problem?
I need to do the A4's HORRIBLE brakes and will be upgrading them to A8 12.3's like the TT. Was gonna do CTech's or Redbox - not sure. Why not Ctech for the stock brakes?

C-Tech's are not a street pad
they are a track pad and require a higher temp/greater pedal effort to get heat into them. I brake hard and have a much larger and better braking system up front so it is not a concern to me. Just not something Mintex recommends, and I wouldn't either.
Hey, you can try it, but they cost more than twice what RedBox pads cost.
