Default Timing Belt

so i changed my timing belt and it looks like something got messed up. I either didnt have the the pulles lined up right when i put the belt on or the camshaft chain somehow came loose. I was wondering if anyone has ever had one of these problems and can tell me how to fix it.
Thanks

Default Ouch, so what are the symptoms?

I doubt the camshaft chain came loose. But if you put the belt on and it was off some teeth then you could have valve damage. What's the car doing now?

Default I would imagine that you would have to rotate the cam to TDC and then rotate the crank to the

appropriate position. I'm not sure what that position is though. Has something to do with piston being fully extended in one of the cyls. I'm sure someone will reply with proper instructions but its not going to be pretty. You will aslo have to make sure that there was no damage caused to the engine.

Default Piston moves to TDC (Top Dead Center) Cam needs rotated to it's marks

One mark on the sprocket, one on the valve cover.

There's a hole to check the crank/TDC position somewhere but I can't recall where it is.

Removing and reinstalling the timing belt is going to be the challenge as long as there is no engine damage.

Also make sure any slack in the belt is on the tensioner side and not the water pump side. I'm guessing that's the number one problem for those who don't count and mark the teeth on the belt because it's a lot easier to put the belt on with an extra tooth or two on the water pump side of things.

Default Re: Timing Belt

the car doesnt seems to have any damage but I dont know anything could of happened. So you guys dont think its very likely that the camshaft chain came loose.
