Default Timing belt class action lawsuit

I have posted the following on the Audi TT club forum:
http://www.audittcca.com/discussions/auditt/00006677

The timing belt on my 2001 TT 1.8T broke on Wednesday, and I only have ~47,000 miles on the car. Audi will not assist with the repair costs although they tell their customers to change the timing belt at a much higher mileage.

I already found one person interested in joining the class action lawsuit against Audi. If you have had timing belt problems at low mileage, please contact me so we can put our voices together and get our repairs paid for by Audi.

My email address is (fadi999@hotmail.com).<ul><li><a href="http://www.audittcca.com/discussions/auditt/00006677">My post on the Audi TT club web site</a></li></ul>

The only people that benefit from class actions are the lawyers.

Default If Audi lost though >>>

perhaps they would change their policy on timing belts and TT owners would benefit from that. Wishingful thinking I guess, but maybe.

Default not so... i actually benefited from an Audi-related one.

I had a 1975 Audi Fox (hand-me-down from my parents). There was a class-action lawsuit against Audi on this car for leaky valve stem seals. Audi either lost or settled, and I got new valve stem seals out of the deal.

The Brits were successful in getting Audi to fund that one for them, but it doesn't apply to us...
