Default Tire Recommendation

Anyone have recommendations for tires? Looking for something that is quite, performs well, and below $200/each. Current tire size is 225/45-17.

Default Michelin Pilot Sport and many here like the Potenza S-03

Edge Racing has the Pilots for around $175...maybe less for your size. They are quiet, stick well, and should last 15k+ miles.

Default Get round ones! All kidding aside....have you done a search...There is tons of info out there...

Also, you might wish to speak with some of the vendors that sponsor AW...

Max at Edge was very helpful when I purchased my tires.

Default Any comments on Sumitomo tires, besides cheap!!!

Sumitomo is well know in other Industries for their excellent compounds and adhesives. Any feedback on treadwear and handling? I'm looking at the HTRZ11, all the feedback thus far sound promising.

Default I'm running the all seasons (I forget the #) ... Very nice nice tires

Excellent in rain ands snow too.

Not as good as S03's in the rain or dry but that's to be expected.

Default Somewhat related: I have Sumitomo on my Accord. Outstanding. Plus only $35 each.

One of the quietest tires I have used. cheapest by far. Handles great, for a cheap tire on an Accord that is.

I would not hesitate to purchase another set

Default Sumi HTR+ I believe is what you are thinking of. Great tire...

best compromise of price ($99), versatility (all-season), looks (nice aggressive tread, but not quite as aggressive looking as straight summer tires), and performance (although it's ultra-high performance and W speed rated, it's not as grippy in dry conditions as a summer tire).

A co-worker has the Sumitomo HTR II summer's and even uses them in the winter on his TT quattro. Very nice tire. Sumitomo is a great value, period.
