Today - I fixed my dealers oil change screw up during my 15k.........
Dealer really messed up my oil change at the 15k. Didn't change the filter even though it's listed as part of my 15k service in my manual as I have a 2000 and it was over 1.25 quarts low on oil! I drained it all today, emptied 4.25 quarts and put in a new filter and new oil. I had put in 1.25 quarts two days after my service, so the dealer only put in 3 quarts when they changed my oil. As you know the TT takes 4.8 quarts. To make matters worse, yesterday I drained a little over half a quart from our A4 as they overfilled it during it's 40k. This is just unacceptable. It's letter writing time to AoA.

I hear you. Oil changes are typically performed by...
dealer grease monkeys and not the Audi techs. I was overfilled on my 5K, so at 10 and 15K I specified "Do Not Overfill Oil" on the service ticket. My tech looked over the grease monkey's shoulder to make sure. I also borrow a rag and check the oil level before leaving the dealership.
After that one incident, the other two visits have been spot on.

They TOLD me they didn't and that it wasn't included in my 15k service - it was obvious when I
looked at it and it was all dirty compared to the new one in our A4 which was clean. I have also gotten in the habit of marking things discretely so I know they have been changed. Although I didn't do that to the filter, I did do that to my seat heater switches to make sure they were changed at a previous visit.

Yeah - however - WHY should be have to check everytime? That's what bothers me the most
is that I run the risk of ruining my engine if I don't check everytime I bring my car in for service.

Yeah it was a PITA! I had to drop the pan and then just drain a little at a time. At least the
drain plug was easily accessed and the car didn't need to be put on jack stands like my TT.
