Took my CPO TT in to the dealer today with a cluster complaint -
They also asked to inspect the timing belt.
Okay .......... Was happy to hear they will replace the cluster, and also not surprised to hear they recommend a timing belt replacement. But not because of any noted deterioration of the belt, rather because "Audi recommends timing belt replacement every 5 years". $1200. This is a 2003 with 43,000 miles. |
Price is a bit high. Mileage is low but time is right. Check and indy shop.

See, thats just not right>
If your belt BROKE it would be covered under CPO
BC of the 'inspection' and its a wear and tear item, they're now off the hook CPO's have become less valuable because of this! |
this is true.
|
Yup. I knew that going in. Just got tired of the wacky fuel gauge.
|
I agree it is high. Need to compare an indy estimate with the dealer's.
The car is still is under the CPO for another year so it might be worth a few hundred dollars to avoid any future warranty issues. Now if an indy comes in way cheaper, say $800, I may go that route regardless.
