Trash supervisor just stopped by>
he saw/felt the scratch... Also saw how good condition my car is in so it made my case stronger
He said get an estimate on getting it out and he'll call me tomorrow to let me know
Of course he made me feel bad when he said 'the valet who picked up last night is a hard worker, but he'll prob get fired over this'
Oh well, guy should have taken more care when walking in between cars with trash bags
What do you guys think I need to ask the body shop to do? 'surface correction' on one door?

Hope he doesn't get fired but at least they are doing the right thing and covering it!
Goodluck with the whole situation, I hope it turns out well for all parties...

in the truck bed and drive away.

So you're really willing to get some poor bastard fired over $40 worth of paint correction?
Yeah, that's not gonna inspire him to come back around with a screwdriver/car key/bottle opener to "thank you".
Hopefully one of his kids is sick right now too huh?

if thats what it will cost then NO
i think he was just saying that to see my reaction. he said 'he's one of our best/hardest workers' i cant imagine they'd fire him over 'an accident' which is what they're calling it obviously
i don't know whats involved to get the scratch out...
but the fact of the matter is he was carless when picking up the trash... why should that be MY fault?
im sure company policy states something along the lines of 'dont walk n between cars with more trash than you can carry'
how is this any different than if i was to break a company policy rule at the office?

Look, accidents happen...
And if they're willing to pay for it, that's great. And maybe it was "just to get a reaction", but if they told you that someone was going to lose their job over something so insignificant, a bigger man would've told them to just let this go.
If I were you, I'd be hoping like hell they don't let slip to the guy which car he damaged and that the owner complained. No good can come from that.
