Trying to run a pressure check

So I think I have a leak and was trying to run a pressure check, but I can't build the 7 lbs of pressure in the Modshack pressure tester. I hear a real significant leak under the manifold. I am about to pull some items off the car to try and isolate it. Just wondering if there was anything under the intake manifold prone to leak. I'm aware of the hose on the passenger side breaking, it's not that one.

Did you clamp the PCV line?

The one that goes up to the black Disk on the front of the TIP?

you're blowing air through the PCV line if you didn't!

That one on the side is connected to hoses underneath.

Including a check valve and a rubber 90...

Here's another post about a sub-manifold leak

Hose is clamped, thanks to the other post I id it "suction pump"

under the mani there is a vacum hose that starts out small then goes large and connects to a large plastic splitter. The small to large hose on the manifold to the plastic Y is the culprit...

https://forums.audiworld.com/tt/msgs/1569332.phtml</a

Have to wait until tomorrow, parts... Any suggestions of parts to replace

Since I need to pull the intake manifold to get to this and since the hose that is broken (feeding the suction pump) is special, I can't replace today. I'll swing by the stealership tomorrow, any suggestions of other parts I should replace while I have the intake pulled???

I think you got most everything covered.

Might want to pick up a spare dipstick tube in case it breaks. If you've been having any temp issues it would be a good time to replace the thermostat. But you got the EVO Heatshield covered, as well as oil cooler and oil temp/pressure gauges.

Good to go.

I love the dipstick tube

I'm currently on my third... thermostat is good only has 20K on it. I plan to pick up the special hose, and a new suction pump as it looks like they are prone to failure also.

Thanks Steve, I finally put the spring back in my pressure tester

It's been awhile, you may not remember but I had blown the spring on my tester and you sent me a new one. I finally used it today. It worked great, found the leak, Some of the best $70 I ever spent.

Excellent!

There have been quite a few successes using that little gadget! As our cars age and leaks become more frequent it will become a Must have in the tool box...;-)
