Default TT Accident Advice

Someone backed into my TT in a parking lot and broke my tail light. The bumper is slightly warped as well on the rear driver side. No note was left. Any suggestions as to how to get by without having to pay the deductible. This is technically a hit and run.

Default How much is your deductible?

Buddy of mine had almost the exact same thing happen to his TT. Hit and run type incident. He ended up reporting it (not much the police can do) and paid his deductible. He got an entire new rear bumper section along with a tail light and a rim I think. If your deductible is anywhere around $500, it would be well worth it to pay it and let them take it to a reputable body shop. That's the only thing I can think of. -Doug

Default $500, but...

the tail light is about $250 and you can't really see the warp on the bumper.

Default If you tell the insurance company, your rates will go up and

over the years you will pay many times the $250. Insurance is for major stuff, not minor stuff.

Well it's your call. In that case you might be better off with just a new tail light.

Default does this still hold water for windshields, where the Ins. Co. claims

if I use them to replace the windshield (and pay the deductible) my rates will not be affected???

Do tell.

Depends on the state. In CA, anything under $600 out of the ins co pocket doesn't count.
