TT Coupe vs. TT Roadster
I'm on the waiting list for a TT 225 Roadster (well, at least 6-7 months I guess). I'm wondering if anyone of you have been able to compare the difference between the way the 2 of them drive. The Roadster is going to feel a little less stiff (although they do claim that they have done a marvellous job of making the Roadster's body stiff) and at a whopping 3300+lbs, it's not going to feel like the sports car that I hope it is (my ideal car being a Lotus Elise). The Boxter S looks very tempting to me since it weighs almost 400lbs lighter, and has the engine in the right place, but it's another $20K more and the waiting list is even longer.
On a side note, I had a ride in my friend's new S4. Wonderful car. He's only got 300+ miles on the odo (he did 250 miles on his first 2 days...). Suspension is a little soft though. Ride is more like a BMW 3-series with sports package than with the M3's.

Calvin,
If your ideal car is the Lotus Elise, then you should seriously consider buying a Honda S2000. The car is lightweight (less than 2800 lbs) , extremely nimble, has a stiff chassis you wouldn't believe, incredible braking, and best of all, stickers for $32,415 (and that price includes leather, power top, Xenon's, in-dash CD).
I am 1st on the list for a TT Roadster here in Nashville, but bought an S2000 last week to tide me over during my wait. Limited supply, along with great demand, means the cars are selling for over MSRP, but I was able to buy one for $2000 over - still an incredible price, considering that the S2000 has been ranked 1st in both comparisons I've seen between it and the SLK, the M Roadster, and the Boxster (all of which cost in the low to mid 40's).
The S2000 is a performance bargain - period.
