Default TT just hit 59,000 AKA <<<timingbelt time>>> quick ???

I this something I should only do at the dealer or can I take it to a european repair place or even do it myself??? I realize doing it myself is going to be a total pain but I have a friend that has the tools and the time. I would love to know what you all think. I also was wondering if there are any aftermarket companies selling the timing belt that may be as good or better then OEM???

Default It is a pain to to the work. An independent could probably do it for $600 or thereabouts.

Dealer will want at least $1000 or more, depending on where you're located and how sleezy the dealer is.

Default the "official time" is 4 hours, plan on more than that - 2 people for sure >>

Don't forget to have power steering fluid - most instructions forget that!
The real PITA is getting the new belt on - NOT easy.
