Default TT225 K04 questions

I have the chance to buy a used Euro TT225 K04 turbo with the following #s on it:
06A 145 703T
K04 D04A051938

When I checked the #s in the euro & US versions of ETKA, I get different #s.

It has been discussed recently that the tt225 K04 is larger and better flowing than the K04 upgrade kits fo the TT180. The TT225 US K04 turbo is P/N 06A 145 704 M or P.

I'd like to know if the euro K04 turbo I am looking at is the same specs as the US spec 704M/P

Thanks,
Les

Default The part #s don't sound right. Check the link inside...

The TT 225's K04 is indeed different to the one you'll find as an upgrade kit. If I remember correctly, the K03 has a 32mm intake diameter, the off-the-shelf K04 has 37mm and the TT 225 K04 has 42 or something, at least that's what I've been told.

The part you found has been discontinued for some reason and replaced by 06A 145 701 M. As you pointed out, the TT 225's K04 has the following part numbers:

06A 145 704 M
06A 145 704 P
06A 145 701 Q (latest BAM engine code)

TT 225 engine codes are APX and BAM.

Can't really help you any more. Sorry.<ul><li><a href="http://194.87.53.210/audivw/vag5.asp?subm=%CF%EE%E8%F1%EA&amp;btsnr=145-50&amp;cid=229">http://194.87.53.210/audivw/vag5.asp?subm=%CF%EE%E8%F1%EA&amp;btsnr=145-50&amp;cid=229</a</li></ul>

Initial 225TT engine codes were AMU - at least in the US

So what you are telling me is that the turbo P/N that I have is most likely the same basic specs as the other P/Ns mentioned here, just an earlier version.
It makes me wonder what the actual difference is?

Thanks,
I'll keep digging for more info.
