Two quotes from EC magazine about two things I've been advocating.
The first has to do with lighter wheels,I have BBS wheels that are 18lbs each, the following quote is in regard to the SSR integral (also 18lbs):
"And lighter is what it's all about. On a 30-sec. autocross course, you can easily be 1/2 sec. quicker with 10 lbs lighter wheels (with the TT we are talking 12lbs). There are other benefits too. The shocks don't work as hard, there's less weight to control and the tire/wheel assembly responds more quickly to bumps."
The second item has to do with synthetic oils:
"Dinosaur oils (as synthetic folks call them) just can't keep up with a good synthetic. Syntheticss are thinner in the extreme cold for better start-up protection, have higher strength and offer more protection when they're hot, and they last a whole lot longer than traditional oils. They're also highly recommended for a turbocharged automobile."
If you are not using synthetic oil in your TT, you need to. JIM
<img SRC="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/AudiWorldPics/2000/JIMTSIGTTFORUM.JPG"BORDER=0>

Wheels are on my radar screen. Problem: I think the best looking wheels I have seen came
with the car.
1)Don't like thin spokes on 18"ers that expose tiny brake rotors.
2)Don't like cleaning wheels. Therefor, I don't like wheels that are a chore to clean.
3)Don't like soft wheels that bend easily when I goof.
The very best looking wheels, IMHO, are BBS and Sparco...which are both soft and hard to clean (OK, so I'm a whimp).
In the meantime...It's ALCON brakes and who knows wheels.
Oil? Never used anything cept' Mobil 1 since it was introduced.

FYI BBS wheels are not soft- in fact they are among the hardest strongest and lightest you can buy!
