Default tyre wear

Hey all,

Just wondering what is the tyre wear on your TT's. I have a 2001 TT 225 Roadster and the tyre wear is phenomenal. I have done only 16000 odd miles and the tires are worn out - only 2 mm of tread left. I got the car with Bridgestones. I am real pissed off. The dealer says the tires should generally last about 40,000 miles.

Cheers
Nikhir

Default 16,000 miles does not seem too bad,

I have never heard of getting 40,000 miles out of a performance tire.

Damn sure should get at least 20 to 24 K if they have been rotated, and you don't drop a couple of bucks of tire at every stop sign.

This is mormal. I got about 16K out of mine, and now I have Pole Positions. I only expect 13K out of these. Dealer was wrong. Touring tires last 40K, not performance tires.

16-24 out of the 040's is normal depending on driving habits.

Yes, I'd say 12K to 14K would be about normal

Default You done good.

Your dealer lied. I can't imagine a tire in that performance category that is good for that many miles.

Default The 040's were done after 13,500 on my 180FWD. After 7600 miles with the 225

the center groove is already gone. I did 2 track events though. After the Falling water trip (I estimate 2000 miles) I need to change the 040's. Hopefully the SO3's come out soon.
