Default Update: 24 Hours of Lemons Texas

Hey guys.

I posted a while back about my 24 Hours of Lemons team and the Modshack "sponsorship" stickers (haha).

Well, we had a great time and ended up placing 25th out of 76. Very happy with these results and we would have been top 10 if it hadn't been for all our penalties. Lots of rookie mistakes, but it was so much fun anyway because the judges are crazy.

This was my first wheel-to-wheel racing experience after 8 years of DE's in the TT. Wow...incredible fun. I highly suggest you all try it.

We are already making plans for next year.

Check out my team's blog and be sure to watch the videos.

What were the penalties for? Going to fast in pit lane?

Default Spins, Passing on Yellow, Hitting Cones, 2wheels off

Some were warranted but in many cases I think the track marshalls were too strict. But you gotta play by the rules and "no whining".

Default There are no classes...just a lot of $500 crapcans

Check out the official site to see where the other races are held this year.

Simply put, this is a 24-hour endurace race in $500 cars.

Default You may have to get creative to drive that car!

Good bribes and some fake craigslist ads may be what you need. Plus try to sell some parts and maybe bang up a few panels (or the judges will do that for you if they think the car is too nice).

You might be better off finding a real $500 Golf or GTI from the 80's. :-)

This event is one of the best. You really should try to race or at least spectate.

Where are you located?
