Default UPDATE on tire issue:

just talked to the shop that installed my coilovers and my camber arms... they said that i should phone the tire manufacturer and complain to them... that since the tires were wearing evenly -- albeit very quickly -- in the rear, there can't be a problem with the camber or with the toe. the person i spoke to seems to feel that the two rear tires are somehow defective.

umm... somehow, this just doesn't seem plausible to me.

any thoughts?

Default Not even close to plausible. Get them to run a tape and give you the

rear specs. I'll bet the toe is WAY off. Just my guess.

Agreed. The wear pattern would absolutely indicate a toe problem.

Default Im pretty sure tires are being made to rigid specs (well - at least during the last few months)...

so the "odds" of both rears being defective and both front being 100% are pretty bad. I'd call the manufacturer just to "check" and then call the guy back with whatever the manufacturer says... sounds to me that something wasn't done right.

Default i've got an appointment to take the car to a different shop tomorrow afternoon...

and then i'll just see what the alignment numbers are.

if there are no problems, i'll be on the phone with falken. if there are problems, i'll be on the phone with the shop.

Sounds like a good plan.
