Default Update on Tyrolsport caliper stiffening bushings

Got a nice reply this morning from Mike at TS. Seems like there were a few other people that complained about the same thing, and they have had some bushings machined that are slightly oversize in case the regular ones are not tight enough in the caliper holes. He said the only way to know for sure if you need is the oversize is to install them, and see if the noise is there when the caliper moves. If so, you need the oversize. Not sur what I'll do with these yet; may put them on my son's B6 A4.

Wish I knew about this option when I did my front brakes. I would have probably ordered a set.

It took me about 30 minutes for both sides after I removed the wheels.

Default I developed a technique for taking care of the excess slack.

Take JB weld and lightly smear it in the hole . . . . put in the caliper bushings and let dry overnight. My friend has Auto-X'd on a set of these bushings with JB weld and there have been no issues whatsoever. JBweld is good to about 500F which is fine for that component.

Huh, I always figured you wouldn't want to install these on calipers with worn pads.

If the pads are new, I don't see the problem. And if they are very worn, then...

Maybe I'll do it when I swap my summers on.
