This blows my mind 🤯
I live in Portland Oregon and we simply do not have to have our vehicles inspected like this. We take our cars to DEQ when our Tags "Registration" is about to expire and they plug 8 to OBD port if you're OBD2 and if you're OBD1 they just stick a wand in your tailpipe and measure the Co2 levels... They sometimes look for a Cat, but not that often. That's it. There's no way in hell that anyone would ever know that you wired your lights different. And TBH, IDK how TF or why they would do it in Virginia.
Registration is for Smog/pollution and has nothing to do with lights whatsoever.
I imported a 99 STi RA back in 2013 and I failed the smog test 2wice and the 3rd time I put 5 gallons of E85 in with the 3 gal of 92oct I had in the tank and w/o a Cat I not only passed but the guy wanted to know what I did to get such clean Co2 levels LoL
