Default Used Instrument cluster

Hello,

The cluster in my car like most, has its gremlins but still works fairly well.
I have an opportunity to buy one used from a wrecked car from the same year and model - (01' Quattro roadster) and wondered if I sent the used one in to be rebuilt with the correct mileage of my car, would it work in my car?

Thanks.

Rudy

Ask "them" to be sure. I'd say the answer is "no".

Thanks for the input. I opted not to buy the used cluster. When I get the time (desire) to pull my cluster, I'll send it in. It's not worth buying one from another car and taking a chance as to it working in my car and or having to pay the dealership to re-program. For the most part, mine is working fairly well. The odometer and tripometer works fine.

I sent my cluster off to some guy in Midwest that rebuilt it. Great shape. About200. and since it was my own, did not have to be re-coded. Will try to find his info. In Chicago I think.

Probably Tanin in Racine, Wisconsin. My son used them and they worked well with him as his cluster had more issues than just needing the LCD and a Stepper Motor which is all we thought was bad. They are about 75 miles North of Chicago. There is Module Master in Idaho that also does good work.
I recall another place West of Chicago that, from my recollection a few years ago, only sold the parts, but did not install them. Maybe that has changed and someone else has entered the business.

Good for all of us to know the name & details to contact him/them.

Gentlemen,

Thank you for your responses. Please do if you don't mind, locating the information to the place in the Midwest for repair of your clusters.
I'm in West Michigan and sending it closer to home would be great!

Racine Wisconsin is probably the closest place.
