Used TT Purchase Re-thought

Used TT Purchase Re-thought
Thanks guys for the input on the used 2001 TT Quattro.
Though there was a misunderstanding when at first I didn't mention that this was a used car at a Toyota dealer, the two huge reservations I've had were the 68,000 mileage , and that there was some wear on the seats and torn inside-trim in the hatch area. It might have been an owner with a longish commute.
Though we had gotten them to agree to $17,000 versus their asking price of $22,500, (note that we had done out homework with Kelly Blue Book), the excessive mileage was of real major concern to me. Our 1998 A6 Quattro 2.8 has 80,000, but it has been with us for most of its life, and we treat our cars well.
So I think we're going to pass on this one, and keep looking.
One last question - are the 1.8 Turbos reliable? It seems to bme that a turbo is one more thing that can and will go bad. Perhaps a 2.8 litre engine is better? Did TT's come with the V6 engine?
Anything else we should look for?

My present TT is a 2004 CPO 3.2 TTQC w/ DSG...
I recommend it highly, having had two 1.8 TT models prior to this car. IMO it is preferable to the 1.8 TT model, but then, I am not interested in doing any mods.

IMPORTANT! ! ! Make sure the timing belt and water pump have been replaced...>>
This need to be done before 60K (even though Audi says 90 or higher). TBs has broken on several cars here and can cost over 4K in repairs.
If the dealer is not sure or no records are available, then see if the dealer will do it in the trade.

13,600 per year doesn't seem hight ot me. I have 85,000 on my 2001.
The timing belt is important. Check to see if it's been changed.
The wear on the seats does seem a bit unusual to me, cos mine look fine after 85,000 miles. & it's my daily driver with a 20 mile commute (one way).
