VAG-COM
Apparently I need a bit better scan than I'm getting with an OBD2 reader. I keep throwing Check Engine Light codes with the OBD2 reader not showing a code. I know there's cheap cables on eBay as well as this: VAG506 VAG Professional Scan Tool with Oil Reset and Airbag Reset Function
I've also seen Carista and not sure if its powerful enough. Of course there's problems with all of this. VAG-COM requires a Windows computer, I'm a hardcore Mac user and have been over thirty years. A cheap VAG-Com would require me to buy a computer to run it.
Any suggestions?
THANKS!

I have a cheap windows tablet I bought new for under $100 a little over a year ago. Is it slow? A little, or maybe a lot depending on your point of view. Does it run VCDS lite? Yes. FWIW, I am not a mac guy, I just wanted a cheap tablet. It's nice to have a "computer" that I can take out to the garage and look up stuff as I am working. And better yet, not have to worry about too much if it gets broken. Mine is actually quite durable - the screen is not even glass!

Same here lol, I refuse to buy a PC....
I went OBDeleven...
Although there doesn't seem to be much you can glean from a TT with it tbh, mine only shows 2 control units...!!
It works very well with my S8 tho...
I just bought a cheap android Lenvovo tablet to run the software, job's a good'un...

Will the Hex-V2 ( https://store.ross-tech.com/shop/vchv2_ent/ ) work on a Mac with Parallels?
I'm about to purchase a VAG-COM and while I like the idea of the Wireless version, I don't think I need to spend the extra $250 for the HEX-NET. As far as I can tell it doesn't offer any added usability besides being wireless.

Unless you already have it of course...!!
But from what I've read, it does work on a Mac running Windows...
I still wouldn't poison my Mac tho...!!

Fortunately I already have Parallels and Windows 10 on my Mac for some other software that I use so that’s not an additional cost.
