Valet feature question??

Valet feature question??
When I did my walk through on my 2000 TT, the dealer told me if you locked the glove compartment than the truck lid release became inactive, so if you gave out the valet key, the person parking the car could not get in the trunk. However, my TT does not work like that. Does anyones??????
Thanks in advance for any response

Boy, wouldn't that be great.
Except we have two TT's, neither of which actually works like the dealer claim it does.
The glove box lock is not part of the same pneumatic system as the door and trunk locks and releases. As a function of this, you do not hear a pneumatic pump release when you open the glovebox (or when you lock it).
To the best of my knowledge, there is no live wire sensing between the glovebox and the trunk. Part of this is that if you wanted to get into the trunk and were a valet (yes, I perhaps shouldn't be posting this break-in information, but just so you know how to protect your car...)
instructions for getting into thekld's trunk:
1) take key from thekld at valet stand
2) crawl between seats into back seat enclosure
3) unsnap sunshade from behind rear seats
4) reach over rear seats
5) unlatch rear seat release
6) fold down rear seats
7) steal whatever you like from the trunk
8) fold up seats, snap them into position
9) replace sunshade
10) drop off car and get a tip from thekld
