I called a local guy in my area that tints homes and such who also tints cars on the side...I have seen his work on my boyfriends previous vehicle and it seems he does a nice work......anway,,,I called for an estimate today and he said it is illegal to tint a 1999+ year car....is he just telling me b/c he has to and he will still tint it or what?? If anyone knows the state law for PA let me in on it....I never had a prblem with my Mercedes....never pulled over once....

Doesn't sound right, what state are you in? In MD can only tint to 30%, i think....

Thnxs for the info...I'm still going through it...and I still plan on tinting my car...I don't know we will see what happens when I take the car to be done....

Is that true? Cuz I'm paying $500 for tinting and I can't get out of it now because I signed a stupid contract through the dealer. But, what I should have asked him is what is the point of tinting if you can't do the side mirrors. Comments?

In CA it is illegal to tint the driver and passenger windows, but everyone does it anyway. I have never heard anything about the mirrors (though I have never heard of anyone tinting their mirrors). Of course the darker you tint the side windows, the more likely you will be pulled over. As a whole...cops will only ticket you fro tinted windows if they are pulling you over for another reason or if they are just *******s.

BTW...my dealer threw in the tint, and their cost was about $250.
