Default WARNING: Removing windshield insulation greatly affects Engine performance

Awhile back I posted some bits about my car trouble w/ DTC error codes related to O2 sensors and catalysts.

It turns out, I had removed the windshield insulation and when I reinstalled it, the DTC never returned. However, one note to add to this curiosity ..

I had posted a 20 delta for the A/F ratio translated to a bit of a lean mixture, when I reinstalled the windshield insulation..the delta jumps to 30.

This tells me that air induction is greater w/ the windshield insulation as opposed to w/out.
Very interesting. Goes to show the novice wannabe motor heads that every auto part as trivial as it may seem to us does serve an intentional purpose of function.

I will be installing a 5 bar FPR to add more fuel to the mix. We'll see what happens.

Default If you're running a stock airbox....>>>

The ONLY place it's sucking air is through the snorkel/fender liner cut-out. There is no relation at all to the windshield insulation IMO, I think it was coincidental. I'm running a modified lltek, my MAF is documented as flowing way more than stock, and I've never thrown a code.....Just a thought

Default thanks for a response..I have a BDC CDA intake..run 4.01g/s MAF after insulation restored

before it was about 3.02-mid 3. numbers.

Again, don't know for sure but it's uncanny the DTC never came back and I'm running even leaner mixture @WOT.
