Water Pump, part two

About a week ago, I posted about a water pump i bought from Pure MS - it looked 'dirty' and remanufactured to me. Thank you for all feedback. Well, I contacted Disel Geek and got a very fast reply that they include new Graf water pumps in their kits - ordered a kit.

PureMS Hepu on the Left DG Graf on the right

I was originally trying to get new 06A 121 012 revisoin not 011T that was superseeded in 10/2005.
<img src="http://130.74.81.102/AW/waterpump/partinfo.jpg" />

Neither part is labeled 012 by the manufacturer. DG lists 011T as the version they sell; PureMS claims to have 012 revision by virtue of this sticker, I suppose.

As Old School AG pointed out 'tested' sticker that I took for a sign of being reconditioned seems to appear on all pumps.

Now to the 'dirty', 'remanufactured-looking' part - HEPU impeller is covered with some caked-up crusty crap, and some metal shavings fell out of it when i fist opened the box; while Graf impeller is pefectly clean.
<img src="http://130.74.81.102/AW/waterpump/04.jpg" />

A couple of close ups.

Of course this could be perfectly normal part of manufacturing process, in which case HEPU is not the brand of my choosing.

This really touched some anal nerve in me and I went ahead and ordered 06A 121 012 pump from the dealer, and genuine OEM parts of timing belt kit from World Impex. When all this stuff comes in, I will post a comparison of what exactly the difference is between DG kit and a full OEM setup.

your ISP must be blocking http over custom ports - the :85 part. Will move to a standard server in a sec.

Should work now; at least we know that your company's network Nazi is doing his/her job ;).

I didn't take it as untactful. He stated that it may be part of the manufacturing process and that the brand just wouldn't be his choice in the future.

Don't get me wrong... I've ordered things from PureMS and have had no problems whatsoever. However, when someone does have a problem with a vendor, I don't think there is anything wrong with posting it on the forum. If it gets resolved by the same vendor, then they should repost stating that. But just to keep quiet because a company has been a long time contributor doesn't help anything. It's always good to keep some checks and measures in place to keep the vendors being good vendors.

Just my $0.02

I think there is plenty of tact here. I would have been alot less tactful. Keep us updated Costa

Yes, I agree. And I may have missed where he took it up with Mike before posting. >>>

But I doubt that Mike would allow it to go unresolved if he had been given the opportunity to do so.
