Well, I am back on the road after getting the haldex, haldex controller and rear final drive
(the rear final drive also houses the differential) replaced under warranty. Wow, if you need the haldex replace it includes all of it. And if you'r out of warranty, expect to pay up to $4,000. DANG!
If you're out of warranty and find you need haldex, a rebuilt one will be less. (I don't know if replacing haldex only is doable, though.) AoA will take my old burnt haldex and rebuild it.
I got all new stuff. BTW, I don't know if anything was bad with the final drive/diffential, it was just replaced.
Check your haldex's before your warranty runs out.

Me too. Maybe it had to do an earlier problem: when I took delivery
and in the first 200 miles, the cars center carrier bearing failed. Maybe there is a connection; everything post tranny/cluch will be problematic. The only power transmission part in rear end not to fail are the stub axels. I have no other explaination. Only August Horch knows for sure.
