What causes tires to "Bubble"? I assume this is found on sidewalls?

What causes tires to "Bubble"? I assume this is found on sidewalls?

Bumping curbs weakens the sidewall.

For me it was a repair from a nail - after the repair, the bulge appeared

I bubbled one of mine when I hit a large pothole.

if you have potenza firestone tires your dealer is suposed to replace the tire free of charge,it hapeen to me AUDI sent me a letter saying that i might have a defected tire!i hit a very small pot hole!5$ dollar tires take the beeting of New Jersey's highways these should too!!!!

Actually, I had Pirellis on at the time and just put my old Potenzas back on.

Weakest part of the tire, delamination of the cross-ribbing threads and rubber layers.
