Default What makes my car run like crap on some days and other days its great?

I guess I can call the car "tempramental". Some days its responsive as hell and on other days feels sluggish. Previous cars before (Probe GT, Infiniti Q45..) had same issues. Are all cars tempramental? Or maybe its the gas I am using or the outside temp?

Default We'll need a sample of your brain tissue. You seem to be the common element :-). Seriously,

disconnect your MAF and after about 20-40 miles, see if the car behaves more consistently (not necessarily better). If it does, defenitely bad MAF.

Default Are you serious?

Run the car w/o the MAF connected? Would the car even run?

Default Yes, he's serious. With no MAF, it runs on "default" maps. If it runs well like that

then the MAF is feeding the ECU bad data, causing problems. With a good MAF it will run better than default maps, but with a bad MAF, default is better.

Default Green temp sender???????

Does really goofy stuff. Car can seem flooded when starting up. Mine has been really strong for a few months. Afraid to change anything. Have found that some gas is noticably different. At least in a TT. Makes me wonder about some tanks octane. Got a tank recently that caused car to pull timing at WOT high rpm. 3rd gear 40-80 was nearly 7 seconds while that tankful was in car. Got new tank and time came right back to 6.1 . Car felt way better too. These cars are complicated. Almost emotional. Gotta love em.

Default And that is why everyone needs to invest in VAG-COM and Bentley..

Unless you are just going to rely on the stealer to do your diagnostics.
