What are the symptoms of a bad MAF?

surginess, car feeling like it is *missing* a beat on partial throttle....
when my 1st one (and only so far) failed I could really see it on my boost gauge, at partial throttle, the boost was all over the place. Maf replaced and no more surging or erratic boost levels. I unplugged my MAF and the 1st time it did not throw a cel. The second time I started it, it threw a cel but the car drove much more linear and *normal*, whatever that means =)
Anyway, it is really common for the 180's to fail, and based on feedback, less so on the 225. BluTTo has what he thinks is a bad MAF and he is 225....

Probably is then. You should get someone with a 225 to
try that new MAF on their car too, that we you could compare it with one from his car and switch them. I would be <b>very interested</b> in finding out if they are the same.

Yeah, but I am suspecting that you would want to compare
the new MAF with a known defect and a known good one. You are suspect that yours is going bad right? If it is, your car might feel better than a failing one, but not necessarily *back to normal* either <shrugs> just a good comparison IMHO

gotcha good point but car running so
strong afyer resetting ECU it would be hard to believe anything else is wrong. Also plan on comparing old and new when swapping. Yours is a valid point though.

I am feeling surging/stuttering at partial throttle...
I asked the dealer to take a look, and they said if the computer wasn't throwing an error, there wasn't a problem. I feel this every day, especially pronounced when cold. Any suggestions?
