for a TT: a-pillar pod mounted, or that custom job (if you can even find one) that fits where the ashtray is, but there you have to be looking at a bad location

APR has a good one or try look at some in TTstuff.

I like the pillar best but I'm afraid it'll turn out looking cheesy...>

Check out STTanford's Fotki. The Defis, mounted on a removeable platform that velcros on top of the dash. I like that idea. It looks good but it also looks like a lot of work.
The main thing I like about it is that there doesnt seem to be any permanent damage to the dash or pillar, in case I change my mind later.

The vent job looks cheesy to me, and the ashtray pod is too far out of the line of sight to be practical when driving hard.
