Wheels Spacers for the TT - Looking for Input

I have found a wheel that I am considering to use for track time. The wheel is the ATS Comp. Lite.

It is a 17"x7.5", 5 x 100 configuration and weighs only 15.5 lbs.

The wheel comes with a 40 mm offset, which is 8 mm more than the stock wheels. I understand that this offset will bring the wheel outside edge in 8 mm from the wheel well edge compared to the stock wheels with the 32 mm offset.
Also, I plan on putting 235/45/17 tires, I already possess, on these wheels. That is my motivation for going 17" diameter instead of 18".

My questions are:
1) Is it really worth getting 8 mm spacers to bring the car back to the stock position?

2) As far as track use, what are the positives negatives to going with more spacer?

3) Will the 235/45/17 fit well on the 7.5" wide wheel?

H&R has the 8 mm spacers for $58.95/pair plus $3/extended bolt, which is alot of jack if they really are not going to make a big performance difference.

TIA for all the input.

Not sure about the 3.2TT, but the 225TT will not fit 40mmETs on the rear...

you might not fit a 40mmET, in fact, I would get a 10mm spacer just to make sure

your current wheels looks better and bigger than this..

why are you changing it? I guess for weight purpose..
