Consider that this question regarding non-OEM H/U's has been asked and answered a bazillion times...
and rather than replying "Search, and you will know" to a rather obvious answer, I interjected some humor, as others have.
As I said, 'What did you think would happen?'
You could have possibly phrased your question that way to avoid the sarcasm.
I would think the fact that nothing would be displayed once you sever the connection with the OEM H/U to the cars system, would be obvious.
That fact also that the display area in question is shared by other functions should also have given you a clue to the result.
