Whining/humming coming from steering I think, what is it??
For the past few months, off and on, but now it's more constant, I get this whining humming sound coming from what sounds like it would be the steering. It is more pronounced when I turn the wheel or am slowing down to a stop. It sounds like my car is an electric robot or something. Could it be a belt or power steering fluid? Has anyone experienced this and have any recommendations? TIA

haha.. no seriously.. mine did that previously when I made slower, harder turns... topped off the steering fluid and problem solved. remember you need the power steering fluid from the dealer or a VW shop.. about $10 a bottle
