Why 150bhp TT
 

I have a question about the TT. I just read on this website that Audi will add a 150bhp version of the 1.8turbo engine. Why would Audi do that when they already have a 180bhp version of the 1.8turbo engine? Are they primarily adding the 150bhp engine to the TT lineup to lower the base price?

I think this topic has been beat to a pulp. :)
 

Audi is most likely trying to get the TT closer to the A-lineup(engine options). What I mean by that is.....

A4- 1.8, 2.8, 2.7t

A6- 2.8, 2.7t, 4.2

A8- 4.2, 4.2L, S8(not sure the engine size, is it 3.8?), Isn't the W12 going to be offer for the A8?

TT- 150hp, 225hp, 300+hp???(TTS)

My prediction is that they will drop the 180 engine and replace it with the 150 but also add in a TTS.

I disagree, it will then make all the 180's that much more rare.

Can anyone direct me to an official Audi statement or release on the 150..haven't been able to find.
