When i saw the slightly-used set of tires and made a deposit on them, i was told that they were all 225s and it seemed right. Only today when the shop mechanic was mounting the tires on the rims did i notice one of the rims having more tire popping out than the other. Took a look and indeed the backs would be 255s I didn't complain then, and after some spirited driving tonight through some twisties, can't complain either I dunno, but they feel greeeat.

Default Personally, i would never in my life purchase tires as fat as 255 for TT .. >>

but that's just me and i think quattro doesn't really need that fat of tires to get grip. Then again, this little misunderstanding resulting in me ending up with 255s in the back is a good experience i would have never otherwise known of

Default Always nice when things work out in your favor...:) >>>>

Realistically i probably will not go the 255 route...I think 245 may be my max...I am just starting to look at wheels and configurations (offsets and stuff). I really like the Kahn RSS wheel...just worried about a cast 18" wheel here in the Northeast....i think forged is the way to go.

If it's the durability you're worried about, lots of companies make super-b non-forged rims
