Default Windshield Spray Nozzle Doo-Hickey Non-Sense Resolved (unsatisfatorily)!!!

According to my service dude at Clair, the 2001 model's nozzle IS NOT adjustable for pitch, there is no pivot point in the plastic piece, and the only possible adjustment is the above diagrammed fluid release valve thingy (taken from Larry's earlier post)... he said the next time I bring the car in, they can try switching the piece out for another, to see if there is a problem with this particular unit. He also told me that previous model year TTs and all A4s and some others, have a head that can be adjusted by a pin (the Ullllllmmmmmer technique).

Default The distance marked "a" in this diagram is what CANNOT be adjusted....

Default Rahul I'm curious.....

using my sprayer at speed (about 30 mph or above) the washer hits in just the right spot, middle of windshield. However when stopped it is rather low. I'm curious if it has to hit low when the car's not moving, in order not to spray over the top when it is? That may not be the problem you're having though... FWIW.

Default Hi Nancy... regardless of speed (tested on highway, in town, stand still, etc.) the spray hits about

100-150 mm, from point of origin, vs. the specified 400mm in the diagram. I wonder if adjusting the flow-rate would effect this, at higher speed, I will test tonight and report back.

Default I have not tested the sprayer positioning at speeds over 90mph, but

below 90mph, I second Rahul's observations. No difference between standstill, 15mph or 70mph. It always hits the windshield wiper arm on the driver's side. I'll be asking to get mine replaced next visit I think.
