Default Winterising your TT

Hi , Ive just recieved my TT with Quattro and I must admit at first I wondered what I'd done having turned in a Siver 2 door 2000 VR6 Golf which will give most cars on the road a run for its money!!.However by day 3 I began to bond and understand the "retro " feel of the gear box and how to work the revs.So having decided its a keeper my next job is to winterise ( I live in Canada after all so OK you smart TTers I need

A recommendation on winter or snow tires Make and supplier ( not easy up here with the TT tire size)

A front end cover to save my new TT from all that
grit and salt they use up here.

any help would be appreciated.

Which part of Canada are you living in? I am in Toronto and just mounted the Pirelli Winter Ice Assimetrico the past weekend. They are 215/45-17, $176 + $8 installation + tax per tire. Email me if you want the address.
