Default Wrecking yards jacking me around on the MK1 arms.

those of you that have contacted me on how to get MK1 arms, just be cautious of some of these baffoons working at salvage yards. I ordered one MK1 arm last week, and should have been here by now. I called them to check shipping status, and they said they apologized, but it was damaged in shipping. What a f*@%ng joke! Damage can't happen that easily on a big chunk of metal. I tried to get a tracking number for proof of the damage, and they would not give it to me. Well, I was basically just given one big lie after another, and I am going to take this to the fraud department at my bank.

Proceed with caution if you want to track down a set of MK1 arms. Lots of luck!

Default and to think you could have had the defcons installed by now :-)

I got ripped on a set of "MKI" arms over a year ago. Not enough room to type out the whole story.

Default Not surprising...>>>

When Audi did the recall on the TT, the MK1 arms replaced were not put back into service.

It would be highly unlikely that a wrecking yard would have an original MK1 arm to sell to anyone, IMO.

And, even if they did, since cars in wrecking yards have likely been in accidents, I would be skeptical to get parts from a wreck.

Back in the 1950s' my brother and some friends of his got parts for one of their cars from a wrecking yard. They also got a piece of someone's foot with the part because the car that the part was salvaged from had been in a fatal crash.

Default Maybe so. Frustrating as hell.

I'll see tomorrow if they really come through on their promise shipping the control arm out or not. Likely that I will send all of it back and just to the Defcon's. Not totally sold on that until things are ironed out.

Just got home and immersing my troubles away playing guitar. I want to turn this amp up to 10 and pour my emotions out because of this whole ordeal with the MK1 arms. I've got neighbors though, so I have to exert some self-control. Crap, less than a year ago, I would have drank a fifth of whisky to cure my woes. Glad I don't do that anymore.
