Default Yes, I'm still here despite the fact that I can't stand any of you. Car question >>>

How concerned should I be now that 3 days have passed and the techs at my dealer haven't diagnosed and corrected my oil warning indicator glitch??

It went in on Wednesday to have the oil temp sensor replaced and the tech agreed with me (thanks to most of you, of course) that my problem was being caused by a faulty sensor.

Next day they said the new sensor didn't correct the situation and they suspected there was debris in and/or around the oil pump. OK, I'm not pleased to hear it but they said they would address that today.

Now they are back to square one (or at least I think they are). Two techs have worked on it and have driven it and all they can tell me is that they need to keep it over the weekend to do more work on Monday.

So, I'm now at a loss as to what they're really looking for and I'm beginning to suspect that whatever "debris" was or is in the pump is something that is merely a symptom of a bigger problem

They did offer to give my TT back to me over the weekend but if they don't know what's wrong with it, I'm not too comfortable driving it around.

So??? Now to the repost section of this post: WTH is the debris??

Default I don't know what frightens me more: the debris (and what it means)....

or the fact that even I know enough to be concerned about it!

Default May I suggest that in the future you add your motor oil by pouring it through a sieve,

in order to catch the bigger chunks. :-P

Default I am getting my car back w/a new radio this pm

debris imo could be gunk crap buildup. Too much buildup is bad.

Default We love you too...

... in our own special way.

Am I correct in concluding your car's still under warranty? If so, you better than almost any of us should know, keep you documentation from the dealer. If you raise an issue while the vehicle is still under warranty and if there is a failure of the affected system after the warranty expires, your are usually covered.

Still, with foreign stuff in the oil, I don't think I'd be putting many miles on it this weekend if I didn't have to.

Default They can tell if you are getting Oil pressure so I don't think they would offer to let you have the

...car for the weekend it there was none or if there was some other major problem. I would leave it there, wait till next week and see what they say.

The funniest thing about that post is the "when YOU add motor oil...."
