Default Yet another Problem with this godforsaken Car.

So my brother is driving my car up to Greeley,Co and he said that it just died, no engine, no radio just Headlights, interior lights, and cigar lighter(he had radar plugged in and it stayed on) He started it and it fired back up. He took it to the dealer today they hooked up diagnostics and found nothing. I don't know of this is Relevant but a week ago the gas tank was at 3/4 and the guage was reading empty, but then it sprung back to 3/4, but the last time it stuck it stayed for about two days, the only way I knew how much gas I had was the "how many miles to empty" display on the Screen. Any ideas? PLEASE!!!!

Default Might be Guage Cluster....

Mine was reading more than what was in tank. I would see 90 miles left on comp. reading and the needle would still be on 1/2 tank.

What other problems are you experiencing? Or have you experienced?

Default Maybe the guage cluster malfuctioned and the immobilizer kicked in while he was driving it....

The fact that your fuel gauge is acting up supports this, but I don't know if the immobilizer would just kill the car while it was driving along. I know that some people have had starting issues when the cluster goes bad. Good luck.

Don't trust how many miles to empty. Reset the trip odometer every time you fill up.

Default Its either the cluster or the fuel sending unit>>>>>>>

I was having a similar problem. The dealer replaced the cluster, and then the gas gauge started jumping around. Dealer replaced the sending unit, and its been fine since.

Replacing both sending units fixed it for me too.
