Default 2008 audi tt serpentine belt frayed on edge
My serpentine belt is frayed on edge as showed in the pics. ANy idea what is causing this? how to fix it?

What is the age/mileage on the belt?

Car has 45k miles. It had 45k miles service done at audi dealership when it had 35k miles. I am not sure if they changed the belt or not.

Default Would not be done with a standard 45K, or earlier, service

so I would say it is age rot. 10 years is a long time for a serpentine belt

Suggest you change it immediately. They can damage stuff when they fail. I lost an AC compressor that way once.
