2014 RNS-E TTS AMI Ipod adapter install
Hi All,
I have a 2009 Audi TTS roadster and I just purchased a RNS-E Navigation plus radio from a 2014 Audi TTS on ebay. I installed the newer RNS-E unit in the car and its works perfectly. I now have the original cd-changer in the glove box. I want to replace it with a CAN AMI IPOD connector unit. Which part do I need? OEM 8T0 035 785 B? and how do I connect it since the harness for the cd changer is different I think?

Let us know if you have any luck. I went through that nightmare a while ago.
My 2013 TTS had the 6 disc changer & I wanted to replace it with an AMI unit. For the life of them, my dealer couldn't figure out how to do it & Audi USA was no help. I finally just went with the (cheap) OEM iPod adapter.
If you do have any success with installation, I think some VAG Comm programming is required.

Apparently my car was special ordered by a dealer in another part of the state (why somebody wanted a 6 disk CD rather than a much more versatile media connection is beyond me) & subsequently dealer traded to my dealer. Since I had no use for the CD, I tried working with my dealer to replace it with an AMI - even went so far as to have them order one but when it arrived, they couldn't figure out how to change the wiring and programming. I was completely new to Audi at the time & didn't know much about their complexity (VAG Com, etc) so I finally gave up & ordered the OEM Audi "iPod adapter" online, a Tune 2 air bluetooth adapter from Amazon, & installed it myself (simple). I don't have all the "bells & whistles" of the AMI but I am very happy with the sound quality when streaming from my iPhone or iPod.

For the TT you need the 8P0 version, either 8P0057785 or 8P0035785 (one is installed by the factory and the other is from the parts department). You also need a wiring harness like this: https://www.kufatec.de/shop/en/retro...di-tt-8j-a3-8p
You'll lose your existing Aux-In, and will need to recode the RNS-E with a VAG-COM to recognize the AMI.
