Default Brake Squeal

My TT-R has had awful brake squeal (sounds like at least 2 wheels) for a couple of weeks - especially bad in the cold weather. I understand this is a common and known problem with these cars. Taking it to the dealer this week - what will/should they do to fix the problem? Is there a TSB on this, or are dealers just handling the issue on a case by case basis?

Default Re: Brake Squeal

I recently developed this problem too. Squeaks only at very low speeds when I apply the brake just when I am close to almost stopping.

Default My car is at the dealer for the brake squeal, will let you know what they say.

Last time they said "brakes operate normally" but this time I told the service adviser that there is some kind of TSB about it, so I expect some resolution after this visit.

There is indeed a TSB and it was posted on this forum a few months ago.

Default Mine squeal on and off below -10ºC/14ºF. There were a couple of TSB posts...

...posted by <a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/tt2/msgs/39154.phtml">carbonLORD</a> and <a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/tt2/msgs/39249.phtml">S4 111</a>.

I was just going to wait until the spring when it gets warmer.

Default mine still squeal even after 35k service....

they said they cleaned the brake dust out and that was it. I think I will take it back and tell them about the TSB. 35k also gets the DSG oil filter change and oil change. Car is shifting smoother now.

Default Mine are squeeling like crazy....driving me nuts. Under 45 degrees

Dealer said they did tsb last time... did nothing. service rep said wash the dust off.
I am going to wait and see what BMWbig6 dealer says...but most likely will take it into my neighbourhood brake shop and get pads replaced.

Default Mine have been random...

No squeal for the first few weeks... Then I had the squeal for a good 3/4 of mile. I braked hard thinking it would help. Ever since then it has squeaks only when I turn into a parking spot... which only has happened about 3 times. Due to me not being able to recreate it, I've been hesitant to take it into the dealer... Anyone have the actual TSB?
