California 2011 TT 2.0 Performance

I was told that California TT has less performance than one sold in another state.
Is this true?
New to Audi and considering a used one from California.

I don't think any manufacturer produces state-specific cars anymore and have not for decades. It is just too expensive. I buy all my TTs in SoCal and have felt no seat of the pants difference with NV cars.
