Car literally has no oil -_- nope not a noob lol
Hey guys so a little background I just had my 09 tts valve spring brake so got it down at a dealer, yes very expensive, however I got the car back put a couple hundred miles on it and today I smelled a little smoke before driving to work. Checked the dip stick and there was literally no oil in my car. So. Is it a possible leak? I think I would of noticed a puddle. I did have to limp the car home when it the spring broke about 5 miles or so. Is it possible that burned up the oil? Orrrr is it possible that audi had to remove some of the actual engine to fix the spring? I don' think they'd have to but at this point who knows. So what is the issue?

The dipstick only shows the top 1 to 2 quarts of oil in the pan. Would doubt it’s all gone. To fix a valve they would have had to take the valve cover off. Wouldn’t expect a large amount of oil loss. My guess is that it’s either burning a bit and you don’t have a habit of checking or at the last oil change they under filled. I would probably put in a quart and see how it registers on the dip stick. It might take a second quart to be topped up. Then turn on and see if the smell was an anomaly.

My TTS seems to use a little oil between service checks. My previous two did not, but my first MKI also used a little. It is almost as good an indicator of service interval as the light/bell combo. The oil light comes on within a couple of hundred miles of the service bell. Almost like it is planned that way. Usually in my case, a half quart or so will do it until I can get it in for service.
